How to get a good night’s sleep naturally; with a Mulberry Silk Quilt

Let’s leave, just for the moment, the finishing touches to your bedding such as a pretty throw for the daytime, delicious though they are. I am sure I will explore them soon enough, but there is little point in having an exquisite cover over an inferior duvet. It may feel luxurious but you will not get the benefit of the silk’s properties without going silk all the way through. So let’s start at the beginning. To get a good night’s sleep naturally, I am talking about mulberry silk-filled quilts. And for very practical reasons that the Chinese have known about for centuries…

Silk is near magic for maintaining an even body temperature, which is essential for staying asleep the whole night. There is no throwing it off, then waking up cold and trying to find it in the dark. No. Just as a silk shirt is warm in Winter, cool in Summer, a quilt/duvet filled with mulberry silk will work with your body to keep you feeling comfortable as your temperature rises and falls.

A Silk Duvet is light in weight, but drapes over the body, giving the feeling of being hugged by a fluffy cloud.

Silk has hypoallergenic qualities; it repels dust mites and moths so it is perfect if you suffer from asthma or allergies. It is also resistant to mildew and mold. And bacteria does not seem to like to grow in it either. Because it repels all these things naturally, it never needs to be washed with detergents. It can simply be aired in indirect sunlight now and then. Perfect for your skin, perfect for the environment.

Silk is very long lasting. Silk has a reputation for being delicate and fragile, but in fact the long yarns are very strong. If not mistakenly stuffed into the washing machine (which would ruin the filling) you can expect a well-made mulberry silk-filled duvet to last 15-20 years. Worth every penny of the investment, I would say.

Silk glides over the body so you will even be less disturbed when your partner turns over in bed. What more can you ask from a quilt?

So wake up in heaven every morning…
